For more than 45 years, the Continental Pageantry System has set a high standard for pageant excellence under the leadership of founder and owner Jim Flint. Long recognized for his influence in female impersonation entertainment and pageantry, he expanded the system in 2003 with the introduction of the MR Continental Pageant, which has since become a premier male entertainment competition.

The Continental Pageantry System includes six divisions: Miss Continental, MR Continental, Miss Continental Plus, Miss Continental Elite, and the newest divisions created for those new to pageantry—MR Continental Newcomer and Miss Continental Newcomer. Each division’s national pageant takes place annually in Chicago. The MR and Miss Continental competitions are held annually over Labor Day Weekend, while the Miss Continental Plus, Miss Continental Elite, as well as the MR and Miss Newcomer Pageants, are all held over Easter Weekend (MR and Miss Newcomer Pageants dates are subject to change as these two new divisions continue to grow and find their annual pageant dates).
Celebrating artistry, talent, and individuality, this division honors the best in female impersonation with a legacy of glamour and prestige. Open to contestants age 21+ who were born biological male (Rules & Regulations). Hormone use and surgeries permitted. Full transition allowed as of 2019.
Showcasing the top male entertainers, this division sets the standard for professionalism, charisma, and show-stopping performances. This division highlights male entertainment excellence. Open to male contestants age 21+ who were born biological male (Rules & Regulations).
A stage for bold, confident entertainers, this division uplifts plus-size talent and celebrates beauty in every form. Open to contestants age 21+ who were born biological male and weigh a minimum of 225 lbs (Rules & Regulations). Hormone use and surgeries permitted. Full transition allowed as of 2019.
Honoring seasoned performers, this division recognizes experience, grace, and the enduring spirit of pageantry. Open to contestants age 45+ who were born biological male (Rules & Regulations). Hormone use and surgeries permitted. Full transition allowed as of 2019.
Designed for rising stars with three years or less experience and never winning a major competition, this division welcomes fresh talent and new voices. Open to contestants age 21+ who were born biological male (Rules & Regulations). Hormone use and surgeries permitted. Full transition allowed as of 2019.
A space for emerging male entertainers to shine, connect, and launch their journey in the world of pageantry. Open to contestants age 21+ who were born biological male and have three years or less experience and never won a major competition (Rules & Regulations).

To compete, contestants must participate in officially sanctioned preliminary pageants held throughout the year. These events are hosted across the United States and internationally, offering everyone a fair shot at the national stage. Top finalists from each preliminary earn their place in the spotlight. There are some exceptions to this rule which allows for the appointment of a contestant as a representative of a preliminary pageant at the National Competition (See Rules & Regulations).
Contestants qualify to compete within their division at the National Pageant by either winning or placing as the first or second finalist in anyone of the many officially sanctioned Miss / Plus / Elite / MR Continental Preliminary Pageants held for that pageant year. (** Promoters are only contractually required to sponsor the preliminary pageant winner at the National Pageant) Should a promoter choose to allow their preliminary pageant alternate(s) to represent their preliminary pageant and to compete at the National Pageant it will be at their sole discretion.
*NEWCOMER DIVISION: Contestants do not have to compete or place in a Preliminary contest to qualify for the National Pageant, rather they must meet the Experience Requirement which defines a “Newcomer” as anyone having three years or less experience in drag performance and/or pageantry competition. (See Rules & Regulations)
